Pregnancy Workout Routine

Heyyyy babes, omg I’ve gotten so many questions on what my workout routine is especially now that I’m pregnant because I find myself still living at the gym! What can I say, I love a good workout session!!

I can’t believe how time is just flying by because I am halfway through my pregnancy! Like what???!

But let’s get down to business…before my pregnancy I was hitting the gym and lifting heavy weights about 4-5 times a week, once I found out I was pregnant (around 6 weeks) I had to adjust my workouts completely to focus on the baby and I had to take it easy which meant no more pre workout to give me that extra boost of energy and also meant not being able to lift even half of the weight I was doing before. I’m going to be completely honest, it was a little difficult for me at first on all kinds of levels because I’ve always been used to pushing myself and increasing my weights to build muscle so I had to learn very quick how to mentally prepare myself that everything was going to take a turn and be more about staying active to maintain and have a healthy pregnancy.

My first trimester was easy because I didn’t have any nausea but I found myself uninspired to hit the gym because I noticed my body changing drastically so even though I didn’t share these moments on social media, I tried pushing myself to make it to the gym at least three times a week. What I found that worked for me was following fitness accounts on Instagram like https://www.instagram.com/fit.with.iulia/

https://www.instagram.com/yanyahgotitmade/

https://www.instagram.com/hopeisabelhoward/

just to name a few, they are all so badass who are also moms! Now more than ever it gives me that extra motivation to keep going. I have daily affirmations where I tell myself that being a mom is a beautiful journey and I will be back to my own fitness journey after having the baby. I am learning to embrace these changes and now that I’m not in that awkward stage of just looking bloated, I am fully proud to show my baby bump.

So here we are now, six months in and I’m doing the best I can to stay active especially because I heard it’s easier when it comes to the delivery and to bounce back as well so I’m all for it!!

Once I got into my second trimester I got tons of energy back, I wasn’t sleeping as much anymore so I bumped things up by going to the gym 4-5 times a week and I feel great now. I still have plenty of moments where I want to say no because it’s too cold, I’d rather stay in bed etc. The list can go on and on but at the end of the day they’re just excuses so I’ve made it a point to write what I’m going to workout each day in my planner and I just make it happen!

Current workout routine: (I will write an example of what my schedule looks like to make it easier)

Monday: (leg day)

  • Stair master 5-10 minutes then stretch / 8-9 exercises (I can’t use certain machines so I have to be very creative but I do a variety of exercises to target my hamstrings, quads and the good ol booty)

Tuesday: Cardio+Shoulders

  • Treadmill 15 minutes followed by shoulders (I like to use both, machines and use weights)

Wednesday: Cardio+Chest day

  • Treadmill 15 minutes followed by chest ( machines and weights)

Thursday: Cardio+Bicep/Triceps

  • Treadmill 15 minutes followed by arm workout (machines and weights)

Friday: Leg Day (same as above)

Saturday & Sunday: If i missed a day during the week then I come during the weekend and of course I make sure to have a rest day as well.

YouTube is a great way to learn different exercises and so much easier to follow along to get the right form and perfect to get a variety of exercises to make sure you’re switching it up!

To all my beautiful mama’s out there, you got this and it’s never too late to start!

**All of my workout clothes is from Forever 21, I sized up on my leggings to a size large and they are definitely squat proof! Tops are size small and medium.

transition to fall+ SheIn

Who’s a food lover?!

I definitely am and this past weekend I went to @smorgasburgla for those who don’t know, it’s in downtown LA and filled with tons of food trucks and vendors to shop from every Sunday! It has free entrance and so many things to choose from and for those who are 21+ they also have a beer garden so it’s the perfect Sunday fun-day!

I decided to go with Peruvian tacos which were beyond AMAZING along with horchata which was super yummy as well and I’m glad I got to check it out before summer comes to an end.

I am starting to transition into my fall wardrobe so the perfect way to begin is with your color palette which I will be talking more of in a new video I will be uploading to my YouTube channel. So I started off with my new top via SheIn the color is perfect for that transition from summer to fall. Of course, it’s still hot in LA so it’s all about keeping your layers light. I love this top because it’s versatile so it can be dressed up or down, I have been loving casual looks lately but still adding my twist with accessories and I’m ready to go!

I wore this top off the shoulder with a bralette underneath because the heat was real on Sunday! I wore my all time favorite hat to make my outfit look more “fall” with a denim skirt and favorite studded sandals to bring the look together.

Remember the key to transition is your color palette, start layering and pack on the accessories. As it begins to feel more like fall, you will be ready to go! The perfect secret to shop smart is buying items a season ahead because they are crazy cheap and you can really find hidden gems. My fall wardrobe is ready to go so stay tuned for more.

Striped Jumpsuit for Spring

Happy Monday! I’m loving the time change because it means spring is near and we’re that much closer to summer! I mentioned my obsession for two piece sets in my last blog post so now I am here to talk about jumpsuits.

Just like two piece sets, jumpsuits are easy to throw on as well and perfect for spring as it begins to get warmer. Jumpsuits are also a favorite of mine because it transforms your look, you get to look chic while still being effortless which is definitely the best of both worlds. My latest look is from SHEIN and I’m loving the stripes and color combo, I am definitely bringing back tons of looks with off the shoulder details.

During spring I love wearing jumpsuits with sandals and a denim jacket to go out with friends or a casual date for a fun and flirty vibe or like I did here with black accessories and dress it up. I’ve attached the link down below to shop, hurry because it’s on sale!!! I’ve also attached similar jumpsuits and they are under $30.

Two Piece Sets for Spring

Happy Tuesday loves! Spring is right around the corner which I’m so excited about, I can start bringing out my dresses, skirts, shorts but my favorite are the two piece sets. I recommend these to anyone because they are easy to throw on and let’s be real most girls take forever trying to put a outfit together, you feel like nothing works and that’s where the two piece sets come in for the win! LOL

I have so many sets in my closet, I’ve lost count but they are definitely perfect all year long and all you have to do is throw on some accessories, a jacket if it’s cool out and a cute pair of shoes. You all know I love pieces that are versatile that you can dress up or down. My latest two piece set is from SHEIN which I always brag about because they always have the latest styles and the best prices on sale. I’m sad to say it is currently sold out but I am still going to link the item so you can get a closer look at the details and hopefully it gets restocked.

Floral Maxi+ Denim Details

Maxi dresses are my favorite this time of year because it flows perfectly in the warm breeze. I’ve had this floral maxi for some time now and it was time to share it on the blog as we are making a transition into our lighter layers.

Shopping at Forever 21 is always my go to spot because it has anything you want or need for a good price! I am sharing the second look I did in collaboration with https://www.instagram.com/stefaniemmariee/ she is just so awesome and I really recommend her. She is in the LA area like I previously mentioned in my other post with her and I’m so excited because we just shot some more looks the other day and I can’t wait to share some new content.

So being that spring is just around the corner, I wore my denim jacket before it gets extremely hot and I love how this casual outfit turned out. Denim details are always my favorite and I have been obsessed with my new denim cross body via http://www.gojane.com it literally goes with anything and I love the light wash color on it as well.

This time of year is all about boho chic looks so of course I get inspired to put them together and this outfit can definitely fall into that category.

Enjoy the look and please click the link above and follow all of her amazing photography.

Movie Screening+ Lancôme Event

So excited about today’s post because I’m sharing a little bit of everything, my love for fashion, makeup and movies! To start off, I was invited this past weekend to the movie screening of Everybody Loves Somebody X Lancôme event in Beverly Hills and it was amazing to say the least.

I actually love watching movies all the time especially romantic comedies, they are my FAVORITE! I was so excited for this invite and knew I couldn’t miss it for the world. I don’t want to spoil the movie but like I said, it’s a romantic comedy and the main actress, Karla Souza following her heart. This movie was amazing on so many levels, I really liked that it was relatable and it took place in Los Angeles so a lot of the places were definitely familiar. I think it’s really important in today’s generation for women to be strong and independent and most of all smart and that’s exactly the role that Karla plays in this film.

All of these characteristics are important but even more for us Latinas so I love the role she played and the hope it gives us as well. I would definitely watch it again and recommend it for all of you to see. It’s out in Theaters today, February 17, 2017 so go watch it! This film has love, laughter, family, a little bit of everything you want to see in a movie.

At the end of the screening, Karla Souza was there to greet us which was very sweet of her to do. She is very humble and down to earth which  was amazing to see, she is beautiful and I’m glad to have met her. This was also a Lancôme event and we all received gift bags with tons of their products! I have to share them all as many of you have requested and will do a YouTube video sharing what was in the gift bag.

I want to give a big thank you for inviting me to be a part of this awesome experience and it’s something I will always carry with me. I am also sharing my outfit from that day, enjoy!

Thank you for stopping by and watching, comment down below and let me know what you think! Do you love romantic comedies as well?
