Pregnancy Workout Routine

Heyyyy babes, omg I’ve gotten so many questions on what my workout routine is especially now that I’m pregnant because I find myself still living at the gym! What can I say, I love a good workout session!!

I can’t believe how time is just flying by because I am halfway through my pregnancy! Like what???!

But let’s get down to business…before my pregnancy I was hitting the gym and lifting heavy weights about 4-5 times a week, once I found out I was pregnant (around 6 weeks) I had to adjust my workouts completely to focus on the baby and I had to take it easy which meant no more pre workout to give me that extra boost of energy and also meant not being able to lift even half of the weight I was doing before. I’m going to be completely honest, it was a little difficult for me at first on all kinds of levels because I’ve always been used to pushing myself and increasing my weights to build muscle so I had to learn very quick how to mentally prepare myself that everything was going to take a turn and be more about staying active to maintain and have a healthy pregnancy.

My first trimester was easy because I didn’t have any nausea but I found myself uninspired to hit the gym because I noticed my body changing drastically so even though I didn’t share these moments on social media, I tried pushing myself to make it to the gym at least three times a week. just to name a few, they are all so badass who are also moms! Now more than ever it gives me that extra motivation to keep going. I have daily affirmations where I tell myself that being a mom is a beautiful journey and I will be back to my own fitness journey after having the baby. I am learning to embrace these changes and now that I’m not in that awkward stage of just looking bloated, I am fully proud to show my baby bump.

So here we are now, six months in and I’m doing the best I can to stay active especially because I heard it’s easier when it comes to the delivery and to bounce back as well so I’m all for it!!

Once I got into my second trimester I got tons of energy back, I wasn’t sleeping as much anymore so I bumped things up by going to the gym 4-5 times a week and I feel great now. I still have plenty of moments where I want to say no because it’s too cold, I’d rather stay in bed etc. The list can go on and on but at the end of the day they’re just excuses so I’ve made it a point to write what I’m going to workout each day in my planner and I just make it happen!

Current workout routine: (I will write an example of what my schedule looks like to make it easier)

Monday: (leg day)

  • Stair master 5-10 minutes then stretch / 8-9 exercises (I can’t use certain machines so I have to be very creative but I do a variety of exercises to target my hamstrings, quads and the good ol booty)

Tuesday: Cardio+Shoulders

  • Treadmill 15 minutes followed by shoulders (I like to use both, machines and use weights)

Wednesday: Cardio+Chest day

  • Treadmill 15 minutes followed by chest ( machines and weights)

Thursday: Cardio+Bicep/Triceps

  • Treadmill 15 minutes followed by arm workout (machines and weights)

Friday: Leg Day (same as above)

Saturday & Sunday: If i missed a day during the week then I come during the weekend and of course I make sure to have a rest day as well.

YouTube is a great way to learn different exercises and so much easier to follow along to get the right form and perfect to get a variety of exercises to make sure you’re switching it up!

all about girl power!

I hope everyone started 2019 off on a good note, I wanted to start off big so as you all know by now I announced my pregnancy on the 1st of January! I want to say THANK YOU because the amount of love I have been receiving is unreal!!! I am so grateful because I have made awesome connections that truly fill my heart with happiness which brings up my next topic…GIRL POWER!

I am all about having girl power and I wanted to take a moment and dive into this topic because now more than ever we spend most of our time on social media. We make friends or we feel like we know someone else because they are so relatable which is one of my favorite things about the social media world. I have met so many awesome and powerful women throughout the years and have had amazing opportunities because Instagram is a huge platform.

To me girl power is showing genuine love to someone else even through something as simple as commenting on their picture. When I use the word “genuine” I am referring to keeping it 100! If I see a picture that caught my eye, I give it a like and comment as well. If someone took the time to write a caption then I read it and comment something based on that. Why? Because it’s about creating a connection! I can spot a fake or half-ass comment from a mile away so showing some girl power comes with being genuine.

On the other hand, a lot of bloggers/influencers I follow keep their captions pretty simple, in those cases I like to hype up my girls. If they look bomb AF I let that be known, or comment something based on their outfit, the point is to show love. You can’t expect to be a influencer and only receive love because it goes both ways! If people take the time to stop by your page to show love and hype you up then make it a point to get back to everyone even if it’s a simple thank you but let them know that you acknowledged their comment.

Before 2018 ended I decided to step out of my comfort zone as I made it one of my goals for 2019 so I said why not start early so I planned a brunch and invited other influencers! I took the time to really notice what girls I was interacting with on Instagram and who was taking the time to show some real girl power and reached out to them via DM. To my surprise, almost all of the girls I reached out to were able to make it except for one or two. I put us all into a group chat, we decided on a place and time to meet and it was AMAZING! All of the girls had a good vibe and I could just feel the good energy all around us as we complimented each other, we were able to relate on so many levels and just have a good time! It’s crazy how all of that is possible with the power of social media. To this day, we all constantly show love to each other on Instagram, I’ve seen some of the girls that continue meeting up and as have I which makes me so happy!!!

I’ve been to plenty of blogger events where I start seeing the same group of girls and you would think that being a influencer would make you friendly but instead they are stuck up which is the total opposite of what they portray on social media. There is room for everyone out there and we’re all unique in our own special way so instead of competing let’s show some love and be all about girl power!

goals for 2019

Hi babes, are you ready for the new year? What are your new goals? I definitely believe it’s important to reflect on the past year to see how far you’ve come and set new goals and continue to grow. A lot can change in a year even when it seems like you have the same routine everyday.

So excited to share my goals for the new year because I finally finished my vision board last night with my best friend which feels amazing to recharge and look ahead at everything I’m going to get done! (Manifest and it will happen because no one has time for doubts!)

GOALS

  1. Healthier food choices 

I’m not talking about going on a strict diet so let’s get that straight!! LOL… I loveeee food you guys so this goal means I will still indulge every now and then with my favorite foods BUT instead of saying yes to everything (sweets, carbs, junk food) or buying out because I’m lazy to cook is definitely going to change by meal prepping and staying consistent.

2. Gym 5-6 times a week

I know this sounds insane but trust me when I tell you it’s definitely possible and I know that because I’ve done it before. I’ve always had an active lifestyle and I have a deep love for sports and being competitive because I love challenging myself. I slowly went from going to the gym 5-6 times a week to 3-4 which is still good but it’s not my full potential. I’m going to get back on top of things and I bought a calendar specifically to write down my workouts for each day and to help keep me on check. I enjoy lifting and seeing results, feeling strong makes me feel like a total badass so I’m excited to start over.

3. Travel more (here in the U.S)

My first trip of 2019 will be San Fransisco which I’m excited because I’ve never been (I can’t believe it either) I can’t wait to explore and get some fun and creative shots to look back on AND for the gram! Haha… The reason why I want to start off exploring the United States first is because there are so many states I want to visit and dream about, of course I wouldn’t be opposed to a trip outside of the U.S if the opportunity arises but some places I have in mind are New York, Chicago, New Orleans, South Carolina among other states but just so you get an idea!

4. Create meaningful content

This is extremely important to me because I want to connect with you guys on a different level. I might be a “blogger/influencer” but I’m totally relatable and I want you all to feel that way. This goal means putting out genuine and REAL content, good quality and being the best version of myself. This goes for all of my platforms like Instagram, YouTube and my blog. 5. Explore new spots to eat

I have actually already started exploring recently and I kind of always have but for the new year I want to explore even more. I love saving locations on Instagram like coffee shops, resta even cute places to go for dessert. I usually stay in my comfort zone when it comes to food because I always end up picking the SAME spots to go eat but enough of that because it’s staying behind with 2018. I love locations that have a good aesthetic/decor because it makes me feel inspired to shoot creative and fresh content while eating which is a win/win situation. LOL

6. Spend less time on phone

This is a huge goal for me because I ALWAYS catch myself checking/responding to emails throughout the day or scrolling through instagram for no reason which isn’t productive at all. I am going to set a time each day for emails to get them out of the way and I’m going to cut my time in half on social media. I love engaging with others which is obviously not going to change but instead put my time to better use to get shit done instead of sitting back and scrolling through pictures.

7. Spend quality time with family

This coincides with spending less time on my phone, I want to be present in the moment and spend quality time with my family. It’s so easy to get caught up in a daily routine or make time for friends and be selfish with your time but I am making a conscious effort to turn that around. I have spent less time being out with others and more time making plans with family and it’s heartwarming. For the new year I plan on doing more of that and include my family with anything I have going on or simply just stay in to spend time with them.

8. A positive mindset

This is definitely a challenge at times because it’s so easy to create doubt and worry about a million little things that really have no importance at all. I am slowly learning to be more positive and I’ve learned that worrying isn’t going to change the future so being positive and hopeful is the only way to go. I’m always one to keep it real with anyone and especially with myself which I plan on doing not only for 2019 but forever. I have learned that good vibes are the most important to surround yourself with to have a positive mindset and that’s why I preach about cutting anything negative out of your life whether it’s people, habits or your lifestyle in order to turn things around for the better.

9. Stop procrastinating

OMG!!!! I’m one of the biggest procrastinators everrrrr and although I do work well under pressure, I hate putting things off especially when it comes to errands. For the new year I plan on creating to do lists for the week to make myself accountable to get things done and to STOP being lazy!

10. New job

This is one of the biggest goals and challenges I will have in 2019 and I am more than ready for it. I plan on getting a new job for the new year because I believe one should be happy when they go to work and if you don’t feel that way then you need to get yourself out!!! I finished school in May 2017 and I was lucky to have found a job soon after that had certain characteristics I was looking for like a flexible schedule and being close to home but I also found myself becoming lazy and not challenging myself and as many would stay because it’s “easy” that isn’t enough for me. I’m going to do my research and push myself to get out there and keep moving on up!

Ahhhhh so here are my top 10 goals for 2019 and I will definitely be sharing my progress with you all because I already have a lot of changes happening so watch out because your girl is here to kill it!!! 5 tips to live a better life

Hope everyone is having an awesome week so far and getting closer to reaching their goals! It’s easy to get stuck in a rut and our daily routine BUT we have to remember to LIVE so I am going to share 5 tips on how to live a better life.

A lot of people ask how I’m always smiling or look so happy and my answer to that is, “I don’t have time for BS!”

5 tips to live a better life:

  1. No time for BS: This is huge when living a better life because it truly helps to take away the stress and anxiety you don’t need in your life! Everyone has a lot going on in their own life which is totally understandable BUT as soon as I feel bad vibes coming my way I just don’t have the time for it. Believe me when I say, as soon as you stop putting up with “BS” a weight is just lifted off your shoulders.
  2. Be okay with letting go: This goes for friendships, relationships or even if you have family members that are bringing negative vibes into your life, it’s time to let go. Letting go means you’re putting yourself first and most of all you’re growing. You want to surround yourself with people who inspire you, challenge you and let you be the best version of yourself.
  3. Make time for yourself: This is very important because everyone needs a moment of peace so make the time to do the things you love. Ex: Hiking, working out, reading, watching a movie, etc. Allow yourself to be in your thoughts, reflect on your goals and what you want to do next.
  4. It’s okay to say no: I live by this and have no shame in saying no to someone. I have never been one to fall under pressure so if something isn’t for me I just say no. This can help with different aspects in your life for example saying no to going out with friends because you want to save money or you simply don’t feel like going out, don’t feel obligated to say yes just to please others. Saying no will help you out in the long run!
  5. What others think of you isn’t your business: I love this because as I’ve gotten older I have learned not to let other peoples opinion get to me. I literally shrug it off and trust me I know it’s very difficult to do because as humans we are naturally curious, we want to know what someone else has to say when in reality it’s not a reflection of us but of themselves so at the end of the day it doesn’t even matter. When I was younger, I wanted to be liked by others and I wanted to fit in and looking back now I see how ridiculous that is because now I’ve learned to be true to myself and if someone isn’t my friend or simply doesn’t like me it’s OK!

I hope this can help some of you who are struggling to move forward, I promise that these 5 tips definitely make a difference, it takes practice and then it will come naturally. Am I right?! I struggle with this as well, some days I’m on top of everything aka getting shit done and other days I feel lazy and put things off for later or even the next day. It takes a lot of practice and it is definitely possible, it’s all about baby steps and not letting excuses take control of your daily activities.

A good way for me to “stop complaining, start doing” is by writing down a list of things to do for the week. I do this every Monday morning and check things off as I do them, I make sure to accomplish a little everyday.

For example, yesterday was one of those days where I just didn’t want to do anything and I won’t lie I put off the gym in the morning but I still went at night and instead got other things done around the house during the day. Don’t get me wrong, I do understand that our body needs to rest and although that is very difficult for me to do because I’m always on the go, I do sit back and relax a little even if it’s an hour out of the day.

Do what you love, what gives you passion and gets you going!!! If you want to start that blog, DO IT! If you want to start that YouTube channel, DO IT! When I started blogging and filming videos for YouTube a couple of years ago I just threw myself into it and everything else started coming along. I’m still learning and evolving which is a part of life but being stuck and scared is not an option for me and t shouldn’t be for anyone else.

So anything you want to do in life, JUST DO IT! Your happiness comes first so take care of yourself, your thoughts and the energy that surrounds you!

My biggest advice for anyone who wants to do the same thing is to just do it!!! Let’s start off with what made me want to start 4+ years ago and the answer to that is that I’ve always loved fashion ever since I could remember at the age of 4 and being in pre-school! LOL

I would always take tons of clothes out and put outfits together of what I wanted to wear to school the next day and model it for my mom. (I still do that to this day, lol) But I’ve always had an eye for styling looks and loving everything I wear.    So one day as I was scrolling through Instagram (way back in the day lol) I saw other bloggers sharing their outfits and I told myself I can see myself doing that too! I began taking photos of my outfits and posting them on Instagram, don’t get me wrong I was nervous about what others would think or say because I had never done anything like that on social media. I told myself to stay consistent with sharing my looks, I began tagging the brands I was wearing and using hashtags like crazy but it worked for me. I was engaging with others who shared similar posts and I noticed my followers were growing slowly but surely. The algorithm changes ALL the time but back then I felt like it was easier to gain followers based on engagement and reposts from brands.

Consistency truly is key if you want blogging to become something. So back to blogging and what it takes to get started and working your way up. I am no where near where I want to be but I definitely see myself evolving and taking those baby steps of where I’m meant to be and it’s such a good feeling. I blog because I love it, I enjoy it and because it makes me happy.

I believe it’s so important to be yourself and authentic to what your style is when you are a blogger/ influencer or even in general as a person. Instagram has become full of aesthetics that are all starting to look very similar and as for myself I know that I want to stand apart from that because I am here to share my  OWN style, to connect with people and most of all I am here to be relatable.

If you have thought about blogging/ being a influencer just go for it because as soon as you start, you begin to know yourself! Brands definitely notice your style, so don’t focus on the numbers because that’s something that will eventually grow especially when you’re authentic and relatable. As you start building your brand and style that represents you, definitely reach out to brands because it never hurts to try!

Fitness Q&A+ Favorites

Happy Monday babes, OMG the heat was real this past weekend!

I want to answer a couple questions based on my fitness routine because I have gotten a couple of DM’s through Instagram so I will share as much as I can plus share some of my current favorite athletic wear. Continue reading down below for more.

So let’s start off with my fitness routine, I like to workout 4-5 times a week. I do cardio 20-30 mins before I start lifting and usually consists of the stair master, elliptical and bike whenever I like to change it up.

As for lifting, I like to spread out my workouts. I do lower body twice a week so it’s extremely important to switch it up if you want gain muscle you MUST lift heavy. It’s all a process so keep in mind that everyone starts off somewhere but being consistent will really pay off and show you the results you want as long as you put in the effort all around.

I workout biceps and triceps one day, shoulders another day and back and chest together. YouTube is a great way to learn and follow exercises if you are beginning your fitness journey. I still follow videos when I want to learn new techniques and there’s so many ideas to follow that are super easy as well.

I like to incorporate abs at least 3 times a week which usually fall on the days I workout upper body so I spend about an hour and a half at the gym. Stretching is also a MUST to get your body ready before you workout. I like to use the foam roller for my leg days before and after my workout.

Food:

I LOVE FOOD!!! So I am constantly eating and snacking every 2-3 hours. I usually start my morning with coffee, spinach omelette, bacon and a hash brown with a side of avocado toast. I have chicken/meat with rice for lunch around 11-12 and have another meal around 2-3 but try to substitute the rice for veggies and then have dinner around 7-8. As for my snacks in between, I like to eat fruit or do a protein shake. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely eat what I want but all in moderation. I have my moments of weakness which are pizza and donuts because carbs are life lol BUT I can definitely say I cut out fast food such as Mc Donald’s, Burger King, Jack in the Box, etc. My top 3 places to eat out for my cheat meals are in n out, panda express and chipotle. LOL

I would say for the most part I do a good job, I don’t count calories, I’ve just learned what I have to cut back on and of course to drink plenty of water. I drink water with all of my meals.

As for the protein I take, I normally take whey protein but don’t have a specific brand. I am currently experimenting to see what goes well with my body. I love mixing my protein powder with banana, peanut butter and almond milk. I take c4 for my pre workout which I buy at Target for $20 but I only take it twice a week when I workout lower body.

Be A Boss Babe

Happy Thursday babes, today feels like a Monday due to fourth of July and OMG I feel completely lost! LOL

I’m so happy it’s summer and I’m all about the good vibes so let’s have a little inspirational talk…

It is so important to build a network of friends and things that inspire you to do better and be the best version of yourself. It’s so easy to get caught up with daily life and all of its nonsense but it’s crucial that we stay focused and see the light at the end of the tunnel.

5 tips to follow:

  • Let go of anything that no longer serves you whether it’s a friend, a job, a relationship etc.
  • You come first!!!
  • Always choose to be positive.
  • Fall in love with your hobbies, for me it’s the gym so I make it a priority to go. It’s the time where I get to reflect and be a bad ass while lifting.
  • Whatever you do in life, give it your all or don’t bother wasting your time!

Everything in life is a learning experience, we should all be growing and striving for more. Be passionate about what you want in life and just go for it! So on that note, cheers to summer and to becoming a better person each day!

Happy Monday babes, hope you all had a great weekend and for those that were in Coachella, I have to say the heat was real!!! I went out there Saturday for some collaborations and man, it was burning hot! I had tons of fun and I’m ready to start my new week strong, stay focused and meet my goals for the week.

Feel Good+ Live Your Best Life 2018

Happy Wednesday babes, we’ve all heard the saying YOLO, living my best life or new year new me, the list can go on and on BUT have you been putting all of this into practice?!

As cliché as it may sound, we do only live once and we should all be living our best life. Life is so short and if you really think about your “big” problems, they really aren’t big at all. There’s so much more to life than feeling negative, sure not everything is perfect but when practicing a positive mindset it can slowly change things around in your life. I have been getting way better at brushing things off and not letting it affect me because at the end of the day I get to choose my happiness. Like Jay-Z said “dirt off your shoulders” and that’s how it should truly be.

It’s been a crazy whirlwind this past year for me, I will be turning 28 soon and all I want and will accept are the good vibes! I have a deep love for music and all genres because it turns my mood around and it’s always there to make me feel good and like I can conquer all things in life. Never allow someone else’s bad vibe come into conflict with your good attitude and I’ve learned that over time. Surround yourself with people that make you happy but most importantly, be happy with yourself. I’ve made some awesome new friends and I have developed great connections that have changed my life this last year which have helped me to be the best version of myself and just enjoy the little things in life!

You don’t meet people by accident and stuff doesn’t happen by coincidence so always pay attention to those signs. I’m a strong believer in that all things happen for a reason even if it doesn’t make sense to us in that moment. Live life and go with the flow and you’ll see that things always fall into place how they’re supposed to! When things are meant to be, they will always be there for you.
